This fall, members of the Irvine Lab at Scripps Research joined the 2024 Discovery Day celebration at the Fleet Science Center, marking 100 years of groundbreaking research at Scripps. The event brought together scientists, educators, and curious minds of all ages to explore the latest in biomedical innovation through hands-on exhibits and engaging conversations.
Postdoctoral researchers Asheley Chapman and Holly Coleman represented the lab at an interactive table dedicated to vaccines and viruses. Through live demonstrations and informal chats, they helped attendees of all ages understand how viruses function, how vaccines work, and why both are crucial to public health. Asheley and Holly shared their passion for immunology and virology with families, students, and science enthusiasts—helping to spark the next generation’s curiosity.
